Full Time Recruiting Suit
Hi all -
Just purchased a suit from TM Lewin for around $250 - I thought it was a steal for an 100% wool suit, and I wanted something in grey because I already have 2 blue suits. However, when I received it, I realized that the checks might be a bit too "loud" someone interviewing for full-time. I wanted to run it by this group to see what the consensus is - safe bet is always solid grey, but I couldn't find any of that on sale. If it is too loud, can anyone give some color on a place to buy dark sharkskin suits, 100% wool, for between 200-300? TM Lewin, Charles Tyrwhitt have been good to me so far. For reference, I'm 5'10" 170 lbs.
.
Way too loud. Your suit should always be a solid color unless you're the rainmaker MD, in which case you can wear whatever you want
Associate and you you can wear patterns like stripes or herringbone at my large shop. Analyst stick to more conservative plain navy, mid blue, charcoal and gray suits
I say go for it. This would be fine for anyone at a BB or EB. I’d give you extra style points for this. You wouldn’t want to work for anyone that would ding you for dressing professionally anyway.
I went through all my SA and FT interviews in a blazer and non matching pants. If you're good nobody cares, if you're bad then you're bad and not getting an offer anyway
From the pics alone, it looks fine to me.
