Game Over?

Had a great interview earlier today: was able to answer questions, the interviewer was a great guy and we were able to connect, answered techs a little drawn out but genuinely and correctly. However, I said "dope" literally 5 times throughout the interview, I don't know what in the world I was thinking... Is this a deal-breaker? It is just so unprofessional-too unprofessional for an interview.

He was a younger guy out of college so I feel like I got too personable and casual, thoughts?

Too casual...if you wanted to be personable you'd ask him about his interests outside of work or what the culture is like in the group not say "dope." Better luck nextime kid. DING.

Glad we have the consulting analyst chiming in. At the end of the day if he puts you through and you pull this again in front of the VP/D/MD he's gonna lose some political capital with his superiors, seen it happen many times before and its just not a good look. Take it as a lesson and move on.

Nah it depends on the interviewer. May not want to do that next time, but it depends on who else your interviewer is talking to. Never underestimate your competition, but never overestimate them either, they could have been just as derpy.

Be careful in interviews not to get tricked into being too casual -- this is a standard trick in the IB/PE interviewing book. "Oh hey man, I'm just a junior person, you can relax and talk to me... [got ya]"

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.

Call them back up and tell them you used the term "dope" because you didn't want to be associated with any of the "fucking nerds" they also interviewed.
