Gap Semester & Grad Date Question - after extending grad date
I’m a senior who extended my graduation to Dec 2026 to recruit for the Summer 2026 SA cycle (missed 2025). I already have a SA spot for 2026.
I planned to add a double major to justify the extension, but dropped it since I had no interest and didn’t want to hurt my GPA. Now I have no classes left to take and don’t know what to do for spring in order to graduate Dec 2026 still. Considering either studying abroad or a gap semester (leaning gap).
Questions:
- Will a gap semester raise flags when transcripts are reviewed?
- Should I explain this to HR beforehand?
Add a minor or certificate or something. Literally anything. Do something quantitative. Once you have an offer, no one will care.
