GE SA 27' | Thinking about Reclassing

I was fortunate enough to land a solid GE internship for SA '27 at a software focused GE firm. As I've continued talking to industry professionals, I've realized that starting off in GE would limit me to other GE and VC exits. Furthermore, I don't want to be limited only to software considering the current AI climate. As a student, I'm not sure if I want to limit myself to those so early on in my career. My questions:

1. Does GE allow for potential exits in to MF PE or IB in the future?
2. Does it make sense for me to push my graduation date back to Dec 28' to allow me to recruit for SA '28 tailored to IB?
3. Is there negative connotation around reclassing in interviews?
