Getting Fired as Lateral
Just recently lateraled and am about 2-3 months still making mistakes like forgetting comments, missing emails, or just taking a long time to get work done. There’s mistakes in my work a lot of the teams so honestly have been trying to think in advance about getting fired. I was planning on doing a year and then recruiting for something else with around 2 YOE but am worried I’d get fired before that. Honestly, the job has been super mentally draining and don’t like I feel as thought I’m almost a shell of the former person. Basically, can I expect to try and switch to another job around 6 months here or would that super frowned upon?
Why would you go through the pain of lateraling to begin with if you were planning on leaving in a year...?
Being closer to home tbh
Tbh it sounds like you just need to lock in. I wouldn't bother lateraling if you're going to leave the industry in a year or so. Unlikely they'll let you go this quick; most senior people understand it usually takes ~6 months to ramp up after joining.
