Getting into M&A from “top” US BB capital markets

Hi guys. I eventually want to get into M&A, but for now I have experience in DCM at a large European balance sheet bank and I'll be doing LevFin at a top US BB this summer. How are my chances for M&A with good names on my CV but no direct M&A experience? Is it worth adding another internship at a small MM boutique, after LevFin this summer?

"LevFin at a top US BB" is probably a more choice, competitive gig than most industry coverage groups. Wouldn't you be expecting to convert that internship into a fulltime offer? I wouldn't turn down a fulltime offer to take an extra internship at a crappy boutique to maybe, hopefully land somewhere at a coverage or M&A group. You could very easily whiff on that and end up out of finance entirely. Try to get a fulltime LevFin offer at the BB and then aim to lateral a year later if you really want to. Or better yet, just stay there because you can recruit PE from LevFin directly.

disregard if this is a European country with a wildly different recruiting process vs. US
