Ghosted by HR/Headhunter?

Hey fellow monkeys,

Just looking to ask for your thoughts/advice.

I had a final round at an EB last Wednesday. The bank only called to this round 3-4 people and they're looking to hire 2 interns. I answered all of the technical questions perfectly and I felt like I connected pretty well with the 4 interviewers I talked to.

I got to this final round through an IB headhunter. I emailed him last week after the interview asking when I should expect to hear back and today (1 week after the final interview) asking if there had been any news, but I've had nothing but silence from the other side.

Do you guys think I may have been dinged?

I cannot speak on your case specifically but I have seen a substantial increase of big banks ghosting candidates based on friends and classmates

Really don’t understand why they would do this, as this just burns bridges with a candidate who may in the future be in the market to lateral. So far I have heard JPM, MS, Jefferies and EVR ghosting applicants after the last rounds, but I am sure there are many more
