Global Advisory 2025 - Rothschild - Warsaw HELP?

Hey guys,

I am currently a first-year BESS (Economics) student at Bocconi University, which is considered a target school for finance roles. As I’m originally from Poland, I’m exploring internships in various finance fields—including investment banking—and was especially drawn to Rothschild’s Global Advisory in Warsaw. While my experience doesn’t yet include formal finance roles, I have a strong background in sales and marketing (generating $100k in revenue), hospitality logistics (profit maximization and basic statistical analysis), working in a non-profit partnership, and tutoring.

What about the Global Advisory business specific questions? Is there something specific that they want to hear? I've read about some experiences on Glassdoor but there is not much info about Warsaw, Poland.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you need to know:

Rothschild's Global Advisory division is highly regarded, especially in Europe, and Warsaw is a growing hub for their operations. While there isn't much specific information about the Warsaw office, you can prepare effectively by focusing on the following:

  1. Technical Knowledge: Be ready to discuss macroeconomics, debt capital markets, bonds, public debt dynamics, and rating agencies. These are common topics in Rothschild's Global Advisory interviews, as highlighted in WSO threads about Sovereign Advisory.

  2. Case Studies: Expect mini-cases involving fictive countries, infrastructure financing, or public debt scenarios. Practice structuring your answers logically and showcasing your problem-solving skills.

  3. Fit Questions: Rothschild values candidates who align with their culture. Be prepared to explain why you're interested in Global Advisory and how your background (e.g., sales, marketing, and logistics) demonstrates transferable skills like analytical thinking, client management, and revenue generation.

  4. Polish Market Knowledge: Since you're targeting the Warsaw office, demonstrate an understanding of the Polish economy, key industries, and recent financial trends. This will show your commitment to the region.

  5. Networking: Reach out to alumni or professionals in Rothschild's Warsaw office for informational interviews. This can provide insights into the office's culture and expectations.

If you're looking for more structured preparation, consider WSO's Investment Banking Interview Prep resources, which cover technical and behavioral questions comprehensively. Good luck!

Hey, I’m also Polish and moving from London to Warsaw soon. I’ve been in the UK real estate PE and am now moving into an advisory / investment sales role at a top CRE brokerage in Warsaw. I don't know anyone @ Rothschild personally, but I heard (maybe apart from Trigon), the only west-like IB in Poland with a pretty close-knit team. Haven’t really connected with peers via WSO before, but happy to chat if you’d like.
