GM Financial ABS internship to IB fixed income?
I'm sure you get a lot of posts like this but I've lurked here a little while but couldn't find anything so I thought I'd ask:
I have an internship this summer at GM Financial that operates like a bank by giving loans to dealerships and small businesses for inventory and real estate financing. After we originate them I'll help in preparing them to be pooled and securitized and selling them off for commission. Would this experience translate well to a structured finance/fixed income/real estate finance group at an IB or am I deluding myself?
I'm also getting my MSF at a non-target with a 3.8 GPA
