GMAT During Analyst Stint?
Monkeys,
Have any of you studied for and taken the GMAT during your analyst stint?
If so, how did you manage? I imagine it would be very difficult with the 80-110hr work weeks. Did you do it late at night, or on a spare weekend day? I think many would choose to rest and recover their mind/body instead.
For those that did, how did you perform?
Would appreciate learning about the experiences/advice of fellow monkeys!
Cheers

I'm planning on getting my GMAT out of the way before I start as an analyst.
Wish I could have done the same before I graduated, but things didn't pan out that way.
Does anyone know of people who studied for their GMAT while IB analysts? Want to know if it's possible to do so (and do well) under those circumstances...
Same as well, I plan to do the GMAT during my fall semester senior year, that way it'll set me a 5 year deadline for business school (although i'm not exactly sure how much of an incentive it will be).
The way I figure, I'll know within 4 years if I need b-school to further my career. If I need b-school past that, I would probably be attending a program with less stringent requirements (part-time, exec MBA, etc.)
My buddy did it while at MS in his 1st year IBD. He decided after 6 months that IB was not for him after his 2 year stint. He got into Harvard, and is now working at a logistics company making high 6 figures. FYI, he's only 32, married, and has a kid on the way. best decision of his life.
That's awesome. Was he in a relatively busy group? Do you know when he managed to find the time to study? Or did he consciously step down the work effort when he realized IB wasn't for him (causing him to get staffed on less demanding projects perhaps)?
I have started a position in a relatively busy group now...trying to figure out if I should plan on cramming during a vacation at some point in the coming year. Though realistically, I am sure I would need that for myself. If you know how your buddy managed - would appreciate the insight!
Honestly, I don't know his exact study routine. When he was at MS, I barely could hang with him b/c he was working / studying all the time.
