Going insane with laterals

Can somebody explain what the hell is going on with these lateral Associates and VPs? Our team has been short staffed due to turnover since COVID started and finally hired some mid-level folks. It’s not the laterals from non-IBs who are getting up to speed and are humble about it - I’m talking about IB experienced laterals.

Was excited at first at the idea of help coming in, and instead got these middle aged insecure post MBAs realizing they have no skills for another job trying to be the hero on nearly every deck. Constantly switching up the team’s standardized processes of working that worked well. Making edits that make no sense or are trivial only for them to be reversed by MDs. Having no clue how to track down certain information despite being in a check-and-review role.

What the fuck is going on in your heads that you can’t realize how much harm you are doing to the team that wants to welcome you and be helpful?
