Going to LA for SA from East Coast, no car though

I’m going to LA for my SA stint in IB. I don’t have a reliable vehicle to get there and around town so what should I do? Should I lease or rent a car? Offer a couple green backs to have my fellow SA comrades car pool my sorry ass to work? I also don’t have a place figured out to rent so if you have any advice for that too I’d appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Assuming you're in Century City, there should be some cheap, student oriented housing in Westwood near UCLA. Century City itself typically doesn't have much available, but Beverly Hills may (below Santa Monica BVLD). It would be a little bit easier to walk from Beverly Hills than from Westwood. Not sure about the car situation.

If you're in DTLA, then just get an apt there. Plenty of availability and no need for a car.
