Goldman Sachs 2020 SA
As I have not seen a discussion of this topic, I thought it would be a good idea to start one. With the application opening next week, can anyone provide insight into the past few years process? Feel free to discuss any and all topics related to the 2020 SA position. Thanks!
I'm still waiting for a response to my 2019 SA application. Hope I get it!
Good luck man, that would be an awesome opportunity.
3 days to GS apps! Let's get this bread!!!
From my understanding, the whole reason they started hirevues was so that they could give access to far more people. At first, they would only interview mainly people at targets but now they are able to interview far more people. If you meet the criteria (GPA, Class year, etc) you should receive a hirevue. This is according to my understanding and the people I have spoken with. Hope that helps.
Filtered resume scan (keywords), next step is hirevue, then an actual person reviews your data/application documents. First round and any face to face interview has been completely replaced with Hirevue and other algos (don't know if this is true anywhere other than BB). GL
It's always worth reaching out and networking. That doesn't end when you get the interview, the superday, the job. Even on the job you want to continue networking. The bigger and better (quality) network = more quality opportunities throughout your career. An extreme example of this would be a good friend of mine. He's a F150 CFO. He has his current gig because he worked for the firm's current CEO at a different firm several yrs (and jobs) ago. When the new CEO assembled his team, he called my buddy and recruited him over (from a CFO spot at a different company). They had kept in touch over the years, liked each other, etc.
Networking is not just for getting started, it's about staying in motion.
For NYC IBD, do we have a limited time frame to complete the Hirevue? For example MS gave us 48 hours.
feeling better about my chances after reading this thread..
Has anyone heard back?
Has anyone heard anything yet? either hirevue or phone interviews. Does anyone know the timeline.
I go to a target, if that helps!
Apparently hirevues are going to be out in the next week or two with superdays being split into two waves, late July and early to mid August. Heard from a contact in the bank.
First resume pull is July 19th according to an Analyst
Wdym by resume pull
Hi there, would you mind sharing what kind of topics did the Hirevue ask about?
Hopefully someone can take one for the team and let us know
Goldman LA had their superday today
Such a dickdown I didn't even get a hirevue. Target school, 3.8, boutique IB internship this summer and networked with a few alums. smh
Just finished the interview. Most detailed and longest questions I've had for a long time.
Spoke to a Goldman MD yesterday in NY. Said that Hirevues are being reviewed by Friday and superdays will be announced in the next week or two if you're chosen, and if you're not you might get one in about a month. Not sure what happens if you're rejected. Also confirmed no phone screen.
Did this MD give you any insight into the pull that networking has on getting a hirevue/superday/offer?
Spoke with HR today, here is the definitive timeline for NY IBD. There will be multiple superdays, all virtual, with the first one being the week of 7/22 (invites will likely be sent out 7/18 onwards). Following superdays will take place in August. Offers are anticipated to be extended by end of day on the day of the superday. Cheers.
All virtual??? Is this new this year?
DJ D-Sol coming in with the cost cutting
Superdays for NY at least are in person, confirmed from an MD involved in recruiting
Never heard of anyone getting a phone call to be notified for a superday invite. Definitely email.
I had some problems with my application status, so I reached out to the HR who sent out the first round Hirevue invite to me. She said I would hear back by Monday with a status update.

I think if it’s scheduled jul 24, it’s gonna be it. Too much effort to scheduling such a big day.
How in the hell would you know. Nobody has any idea about anything so far. Everyone’s gotta stop making assumptions. Just wait and see.
Well that guy (first time poster) that posted he got a superday invite just deleted both his comment here and his thread. I’m calling fake news on this one
I agree. Just wanted to see us panic the fuck out.
with all the Hardos on this site that would post on this thread ab a superday invite before calling their mother, there’s no shot decisions are actually out lol
I hear that McDonald's summer frier analyst pays good money, so don't freak out about it too much boys
I work at an elite boutique (think chick fil a, Taco Bell, checkers, etc.) summer analyst pay is above standard drive through, and some firms like chick fil a have enacted protected weekends by making us take Sunday off
So you definitely work at Taco Bell. No one would consider them elite, mid tier at best. These are the worst kinds of people....
no one knows anything so lets all just sit back and continue refreshing until we all break our computers, give up, and decide to find a bar tending job
Yeah son, we're all getting blue balled rn
That or just everyone on this entire feed got fucked by GS
Hbt NY office? Any idea?
Well there goes that... lol
Wondering the same. Everything else so far was for AFG right?
Can anyone confirm? For classic specifically
How could you do this to me GS...
I would say not to lose hope. I find that most forums here can be a bit toxic in the sense that they make us overthink this process. I would just continue prepping as if I am going to get a hirevue. If you get it, great. If not, I'm sure the prep you did will be relevant elsewhere.
Just spoke to contact who is head of my career office and organizes recruitment for my school. For those who have done HireVue and status still is “completed” but have not gotten an answer, you are still alive. They have rejected people already but kept some people that they like and want to consider for next Superday wave. Confirmed that Superday is virtual
There is a distinction, some people did get formal rejection
Does anyone have any insight into the Hispanic Latino Leadership Summit? Any possibility of them pooling applicants considered for this program for a superday at the conclusion of the program versus the one scheduled for this week?
I talked to a recruiter and they said that they filled up the first superday so anyone who has submitted a Hirevue but hasn't been reviewed yet will be considered for the second superday in August.
How many of you guys are going to keep repeating the same thing? There has been a discussion over Hirevues, at least 100+ comments, alone. If you guys cannot understand the simple thing between if you moved on, got rejected, or are still being considered, then how are yall gonna work at GS? People in this chat talked to individuals working at GS and gave you guys the updates. Yet there so many people who keep doubting or requestioning the same thing. Stop being annoying to others in the chat, if you want to ask something that has been answered just PM, stop blowing it up on the main thread. That is just my two cents and what everybody thinks, but nobody wants to say. Good luck working at GS if you cannot simply read other comments lol.
How do I find out the current deals Goldman Sachs is working on?
oh baby you late to the game
It's hilarious how many 'tards come out of the dark and onto the thread whenever GS recruiting is going on.
Those of you asking the level 1 questions that have been asked in 5 different ways 30+ times on this thread are clueless, good luck.. lmao
To those of you who are actually serious and have already applied/gotten hirevues/superdays, etc. congrats because this crowd does not seem like a bright one this cycle, secure the bag kings
Mfs here would sell a kidney for Hirevue questions
Hello everybody !
Could please somebody share any opinion/events on Securities hiring process. I applied on 14 July.
Hi! There will be interviews then offers handed out. Hope this helps!
Thank you for your reply !
So , there won’t be hirevue ? Do you know if anybody has received any communication from them ? I applied to China’s office
Anyone heard anything about the timeline for Compliance or Legal?
Is that investment banking?
Would love know when ppl start hearing back from today’s NYC superday
Does anyone know if the second round of superday invitations have been sent out yet? For NY IBD
If we applied on July 1 and did the Hirevue that first Friday but have heard nothing since, are we out? My app says Hirevue Completed
did anyone else get a call from the SF office saying that they're still deciding and will let you know by the end of the week? I thought most offers had already gone out
I think there is a lot of misinformation going on right now but in my honest opinion i'd say just be patient. Trust me.
Has anyone been brave enough to email a recruiter and ask if "application received" means you're out at this stage?
Has anyone heard about Chicago Superdays? Completed Hirevue on the 28th, and haven't heard back yet.
When should we be able to get another wave of hirevues for IBD NY??
Does anyone know when the sophomores should be hearing if they get hirevues?
From my understanding, sophomores are not a high priority so a bit later on in the process. Hope that helps.
Anybody hear anything from GIR? I know IB is what everyone is paying close attention to but would be intereted if anyone has thoughts on GIR and where it is in the recruitment cycle?
It's probably gonna get lost in the comments but this is for all sophomores here. I heard from a VP that HR will be reviewing all sophomore resumes in September and all super days are going to be held in late September and early October. Don't worry. You're gonna get through this.
Talked with an alumni from my school and she recommended that I take another offer I got at another bank because almost all the spots are taken. She said their is a "grim chance" of me getting something because I applied after the first week the portal was open. I have a 3.9+ from a semi-target (alumni come on and do interviews but no official HR people). I just wanted to give other people a heads up so they don't chase after something that is not very probable. Best of luck to all!
This is is for IBD NYC btw
This is such a snakey post
Lmao you're a legit scumbag for posting false info like that
When is the next wave of IBD Hirevues for the NYC office for rising juniors coming out? Is it true that they've already almost filled their intern class?
If you're a rising Junior, were you supposed to select 2020 as "recruiting year" on your application, or 2019? I selected 2020, still 'application received'
Have the 2nd wave of hirevues for ibd ny gone out yet?
To all of you who got placed on the “hold list” from the first wave super day for classic NYC IBD: I finally heard back last night after almost 3 weeks and was given the offer. So it IS possible to get off the list, so keep pushing and being patient. I go to a non-target and didn’t even have another offer to leverage, so I would expect for most of you on that list to hear back soon too if you haven’t already. From my understanding, everyone on the hold list is considered good enough to receive an offer, but HR could only take a set amount of people right away because they had to give a shot to later applicants in waves 2 and 3. Best of luck everyone!!
Just got a Hirevue for NYC IBD to be completed by 8/22. I applied on 7/3.
Anyone hear back from the hirevue that was due august 22nd. NYC IBD
also curious to hear when do offers go out post-superday? anyone have a great superday and not get an offer?
You guys are asking questions that nobody can answer, or even wants to answer. To shed some light on the process, I completed a HireVue in late July and heard nothing until two weeks ago when I was invited for a virtual Super Day. If you’re not informed that you are rejected post-HireVue, there’s still a chance. Just wait until you are contacted instead of asking the same questions every day...
UPDATE: Just got a rejection call
Just wanted to say thanks, it takes guts to come out and say you got rejected. Best of luck in future opportunities, and hope you find yourself at GS down the line if it's truly what you want.
Why didn’t you pass the background check?
