Saw a few roles recently at the GS Chicago office. I've been thinking about making a move back to the midwest for a few reasons and wanted to get the forum's views on the GS Chicago office.
Curious about the groups here, how much of their deal execution they run out of where or if it's a "pitch and ditch" type satellite office.
Really interested in people, culture and type of work. Looking at the Industrials group more specifically.

Why? I thought generally CHI offices are more laid back than NYC/SF counterparts

Thanks for sharing, is this recent / direct experience? Is that culture consistent across all groups, or is Industrials just special?
Also curious about deal flow, if you don't mind sharing.
I think industrials is the only group. Not sure if they got rid of fig.
Got it, looking at LinkedIn it seems there's a decent consumer / retail there too, but the roles I was seeing were all Industrials so your response being for Ind is helpful
Any idea about the deal flow, quality of assignments? Or does it all get shipped to NYC and Chi ends up doing just books/pitches?
Went to a SA recruiting info session and they spoke about how they do execution in CHI as well. Can't speak to deal flow though. Hope that helps, goodluck
