Hi I have a similar interview with Goldman Sachs GIR's Global Economics, Commodities and Strategy Research Dept, its a 1 year internship in Hong Kong..

Anyone have any advice regarding the group or what questions they might ask?

I don't know anything about research as I am from PE..

A bit of googling has helped me clarify some issues a bit. You can get some examples of the research work done by GS online. For example if you google 'Thought Leadership Forum: Global Health Fact Sheet' you should come across a research doc by the Global Markets institute at GS. This might give you an idea of the format of research at GS (or at least I hope so). Also this was quite interesting: http://www.scribd.com/doc/24712050/Goldman-Sachs-Research-10-Questions-…

Let me know how your research is going. I am still anxious to try to differentiate GS GIR from other research centres in banks!
