Good Opener for emailed cover letter
Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you had a good opener for an emailed cover letter, in which the company never came for a presentation but recruits at my school. I ask because normally I like to start out by saying I attended your presentation and based on that am interested in applying for an SA job (not in those exact crude terms). Also, this email will be going to a person who is high up in command who I know through a friend. He said he will email it with a message to the recruiting team for my school. Thanks.
Introduce yourself, for one. Most cover letters are pretty basic and have very little weight in your application, so long as you don't make a fool out of yourself.
Also go into detail as to why you want to work there and what you have to offer them.
I have already introduced myself to this person, but I guess since he is going to forward it to HR I should make it as formal as possible. Also subject Line in the email, any ideas? I guess a cover thru email is pretty much the same format as a cover leter you submit thru an application.

There's probably a gazillion sites out there that tell you how to write a killer cover letter. Google can be your friend.
