Got an offer!
I saw some other similar posts recently, but I officially wanted to thank this community for providing great information and entertainment during the most stressful period of my life. I got a full time ibd analyst offer on Friday, and I could not be more excited. This year I've spent several hours every day networking and many a sleepless night thinking about accounting questions. I can usually find what I'm looking for on WSO and it really helped me research companies, groups, and technicals. Now that I will have a real job, I will contribute more to the site as I feel I now have a bit more authority to weigh in on subjects. In fact, I didn't want to comment too much since I wasn't sure that I would even break into ibanking! Anyways, THANK YOU TO ALL!
nice d00d, congrats!
thanks bro
Congrats! what kind of firm/group?
Congrats!
it's a mm in chicago that is solid and growing fast. the md who called me said i would be a good fit for his food & consumer group, but will decide on all that later. i did my internship last summer in lev fin so thats also a group that appeals to me. i will def need advice for this later on.
Nice work, monkey! I actually can't think of a better place to be right now than food and consumer, especially in Chicago. I'd give that some serious thought if I were you.
Congratulations, man.
Thanks Edmundo, glad to see your input. What makes you say that about food and consumer in Chicago? Any recent deals I should read about?
Coming from an acquisition & lev fin experience this summer, I'm just worried about becoming an excel modeling beast. Same old product vs industry debate
Congrats man, love to see when things work out for people.
Congrats. Now go out and enjoy the rest of your senior year.
Congrats! This website continues to be very useful for prospective bankers.
Sounds like Lincoln International...
Lincoln doesn't have a lev fin group.
Maybe BGL?
go die. kthx.....
Congrats man, go out and enjoy your life for the rest of senior year cause once you graduate and start work you won't have one!
Haha, but in all seriousness, great to hear success stories coming from people on this board. The community is amazing.
Congrats man. Reminds me of myself.
And for all the other prospective monkeys out there still looking- if you want it badly enough, you will get a job. I go to a good school, but the career center is severely lacking and thus barely any banks on campus. I called tons of alumni and exhausted my parents' network to make up for it. The smallest connection will end up being your lifeline and get you in the door. I have friends who are first year analysts at BBs, and they got jobs in May and June. Stay positive!
For IBD? I thought IBD filled up in October or November for seniors.
Congrats! I hope to be in your shoes next year.
....
bcbunker-maybe, but can't confirm just to hide my identity I guess.
swagger-yes for ibd that is the norm, but especially over the last few years, banks that are doing well will hire outside of the structured recruiting process. This year, many banks filled their spots with SAs and are being conservative right now despite improved performance (foreclosure mess aside). In my opinion, banks will need to hire additional analysts in 2011 for the current class.
banking on you being right, leveragedfiend...
and congrats
Congrats, now the real stress begins (you laugh it off now, you will look back and hate yourself later)
Congrats man, great to see people accomplish their goals. Now please go enjoy your life because you are going to feel the opposite a year from now lol.
William Blair?
Anyways- well done, my friend. Chicago is a great town.
International Pymp- don't wanna confirm any names on the site, but as you can tell I'm very excited about the opportunity.
I enjoyed myself a lot this weekend, and as a result, I have not left the couch all day!
