Got referred to a VP from another VP

I recently got referred to a VP from another VP. The first VP introduced me by cc’s the second VP in the email. After that, the second VP never replied my first email with re referral name in subject line and he didn’t reply that cc’d email either. What’s going on lol. It was 4 days ago. Should I follow up?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it's not uncommon for senior professionals like VPs to take time to respond, especially if they are busy or if your email didn't stand out enough. Here’s what you can do:

  1. Wait a bit longer: Four days isn't too long, especially for someone in a senior position. Give it a few more days before following up.

  2. Craft a thoughtful follow-up: When you do follow up, make sure your email is concise, polite, and adds value. Reference the initial introduction and reiterate your interest in connecting. For example:

    • Thank them for their time and acknowledge their busy schedule.
    • Briefly restate your purpose for reaching out and how their insights or advice would be valuable to you.
    • End with a polite call to action, such as asking for a brief call or meeting at their convenience.
  3. Refine your approach: If your initial email was too generic, consider revising your follow-up to show that you've done your research and have a specific reason for wanting to connect with them. As highlighted in WSO threads, senior professionals are more likely to respond when they see that you've put in effort and have a clear, targeted ask.

Remember, persistence is key, but always remain respectful and professional in your communication. Good luck!
