Graduation Ceremony During Internship

Hi everyone,

I'm doing an internship in my final year of university, and my graduation ceremony will fall during my internship. Is it fatally detrimental to me if I use 2 days of my 4 days holiday to go? We're recommended to take 2 days anyway by HR, but I don't know how this might look...

If anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it.

Nah prove your dedication to the team by skipping your graduation

Edit: before ppl get worked up--it's a joke

I think they would understand for graduation. Is this where your returning FT? If not go to graduation and if it’s that serious work something out with HR/MD.

Go regardless of the day of the week, it’s your college graduation

I care because I actually put in a lot into my time at uni. Rebuilding our uni's economics club after COVID, successfully building corporate relationships to get my members the best shot they can get at a top job, having made the bulk of my friends here... there's a lot I've achieved beyond just academics, so I'd like to celebrate that. not to mention it being a big deal for my parents and family, whilst I am not the first to attend university (actually a few generations have gone to uni), it's always something that's taken seriously. education isn't just seen as a means to get a job in my family, so to me, it's important. It's the culmination of everything I've worked towards since I decided what I was going to study at university at the end of Year 10.
