I like it, I think the deal was well structured (from an incentives perspective) and they are buying a platform/firm versus EVR seemed to bring on a few senior bankers to build out their practice. Cogent seems to be respected in the space, so we shall see.
I think GHL was overdue for some shock/change as their 2014 performance (relative) to other boutiques did not seem to impress.
