Groups that pay the most

Hey Folks!

I'm currently at a top MBA program and am recruiting for IB. I need to tell recruiters coming on campus what groups I prefer, typically a top 3. I am honestly pretty agnostic to the work and want more data around which groups generally pay more than others. Obviously will vary bank to bank but some general info that can serve as a data point to inform my decision would be very helpful.

80%+ of those recruiting for IB end up at top 5 BBs and the EBs if that provides any needed context.

The answer especially for asso+ will be boutiques outpaying by far

For EB's CVP is highest, PJT/PWP are closest to them in EBs

Dyal/Mklein will work you like a dog for top comp

Ardea/Qatalyst have great comp with profit sharing but if you're recruiting gen it will be harder to go for these industry specific boutiques

I don't think Dyal/Mklein type of places hire out of MBA programs

I know this isn’t exactly what you’re asking, but my friend working DCM at a top 3 BB said he was paid quite more at the associate level compared to his coverage group peers while also working fewer hours.
