GS Houston

With GS Houston starting to recruit, I was curious to hear about any thoughts on the culture, workflow, and exit opps. Heard some rough things about the culture but was wondering if it would be worth it for the brand name(in NY or SF PE and HF recruiting ). Additionally, any thoughts on how many interns will be extended offers?

Strong brand name but it’s shit in terms of pay, culture and deal flow

Pay shouldn’t be a concern at the junior level though

JPM has been on some of the bigger deals recently, but I have heard some questionable things about their culture. (Also, Jamie Dimon simp'd to the far left Sierra Club and said that JPM won't be financing fossil fuels deals anymore or something like that so unclear how that will affect their deal flow down the line). Haven't heard much about the MS office in Houston, guessing it's on the smaller side.

In all honesty, if you get an offer from either of the three that would be great career stepping stone. Don't fall for the WSO bs of tiering banks based on groups. O&G will be back to normal by the time you start and you will see deals coming your way in any of the three. Focus on yourself and if you want great exit opps then open those doors via networking.
