GS intern offer
Hi all, I have been following this board and had learned a lot from the threads. I've got an offer from GS London and I really feel thankful for my contacts in the firm for it is difficult time for almost everyone. A side note: I am a foreigner from US who would apply for H1B visa if I apply to work in the US. And the stimulus plan bill comes with really bad terms on work visas so, this looks really great.
London's sick, especially now. Just got back from living there this summer (Smithfield). Check out ASC on tuesdays for 18-19 american girls and then Tiger Tiger about every other night. I'm so jealous.
What do you mean？ I thought there is a lot to see in London, like the museums and historical stuff? Night life in London is fine as I heard.
nice. did you apply directly to london or did they give you that option when you applied in the states? are you doing your Tier 2 visa for the UK? how long does it take? they say at most 15 business days, but i hope it takes less. i am doing it right now and i am waiting for my TOEFL scores to be delivered to the laweyrs and i am really stressed because i should start working the 30th of march.

whats the UK work visa process, is it similar to the h1b we have it in the states? As my firm will apply for a h1b, but if it doesn't get selected in the lottery, they might help me in moving abroad. So would appreciate if someone could shed some light on this. Thanks
Sure. For applying a work visa in UK, they changed the process to a point based system recently. But anyway, you need to apply a work permit first, and then apply for a visa to work. The company will handle work permit though.
