GS Restructuring?
Saw a couple people with Lev Fin / Restructuring or just Restructuring IB at Goldman Sachs on Linkedin and was wondering if there is an actual group at GS focused on restructuring.

Career Resources
The team is relatively small and sits within LevFin under AFG (Americas Financing Group). Don't have too much info on the group but they aren't as robust as your typical boutique Rx advisory shop (PJT/EVR), but they do some distressed M&A along with creditor side advisory if I recall correctly. Small group though. Roughly 7-9 ppl in NY.
GS is too conflicted in most situations to have an actual restructuring group a la PJT/EVR/Laz. Mostly does distressed loan restructuring/workouts. Doesn't stop people who work there from strutting around as though they did rx at one of the aforementioned shops (I speak from experience lmao)
Very low deal flow compared to its lev fin peers, but you get the opportunity to work on extremely complex and significant financings on the rare occasion they become necessary (like present times). Different skill set than traditional lev fin.
I think it’s a small group, biggest mandate I have seen them on is revlon
