Considering they poached almost all of William Blair's senior Tech team....

Their Tech & Services team is on par with William Blair (or what it used to be) and Raymond James. Possibly similar to Arma but Arma does way more software. Somewhat comparable to Jef although Jef TMT offers more products in London not just M&A. Gug is very sponsor-focused

Step up from Houlihan, Baird, Canaccord within tech remit. DC tech SUCKS so not in the same discussion

In terms of EB's, and purely thinking about deal size in tech & services: far below EVR, decent bit below Laz, slightly below Moe and Roths (will be on other side here and there), not in the same league nor space as Qatalyst, no idea about PWP. PJT not in the same convo, no idea where they land

BB is not comparable. Deals are way bigger there

Digital infra team is really strong. Poached entirety of Greenhill there

Can't comment on anything else

Little is actually known - they poached Greenhill's digital infra team and made a few headlines here and there for making some high profile poaches (Ben Thorpe for example) a few years ago and are looking to expand into biz services (they just hired the best MD in legal services). Heard comp is near top of street and some seniors getting silly sign-ons. Don't know much about the junior end but culture is probably similar to other London boutiques, very European masters heavy but heard its a bit more sociable. I'm no authority to say what is an EB or isn't (at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter), but looks like Gugg are targetting sponsor sell-sides in the mid-upper-mid market space. Still think it's slightly early to have a full verdict.
