Guggenheim Menlo Park - Software Team - Culture, Comps and Exit Opportunities

Hello,

This seems like a recently vamped up team at the bank (but please correct me if I am wrong) so I am not sure what the culture and the exit opportunities are like. Thus, please comment if appropriate. I am looking to lateral to a Tech and Software focused team.

One LinkedIn profile I found used to work for Guggenheim and is now at CD&R. Not sure if this is a rare occasion or if this seems not far-Stretched.

Please share your thoughts and thank you!

Had a superday with them in April, didn’t get the offer. From what I can tell small shop of less than 10 (I assume they prob took one SA). Based out of Menlo Park, NOT SF and gathered that seemed a lot due to the fact the head guy with kids just wanted to live there to raise a family. People seemed nice but ultimately not the ideal experience I would want in banking, but that’s personal preference

Thanks for sharing. I appreciate it. Was the interview quite surprising to you in terms of what they asked you?

Analyst in Gugg NY here - the Menlo analysts I trained with were chill and down to earth, maybe due to the fact that they didn't have to worry about group placement. PE advisory is one of, if not the highest fee generating groups at Gugg, and the Menlo Park office was built to further solidify relationships with Bay Area sponsors. One caveat is the location (applies to other Menlo Park offices too) - analysts prefer to stay in SF but that's still a fair distance from the office.
