H1B as an International- Advice

Hi I am an incoming international freshman at a non target uni, big public state school. Just a bit about my story:

I come from a developing south east asian country and have been studying in America since high school freshman year. I went to an elite boarding school in the northeast and due to some circumstances, left my senior year and currently finishing up school elsewhere in America. I had to go to this state school because i withdrew all my pending applications to other colleges and am hoping to transfer to a target school after spending a few years at this state school. I’ve just been really concerned recently about whether I even have a chance of breaking into IB or high finance considering I am international and all of these problems with H1B isn’t making my life easier.

I’m hoping to get some insight on what I should do about transferring (or don’t even transfer). How screwed am I for H1B and job opportunities (I’m a finance major so no STEM OPT). And I’m trying to get citizenship in America which I don’t know would be possible or not. My parents refuse to pay for the investment green card track (reasonably so because they have no interest of moving to America) but I know they can afford it and i just wished that I had a green card because that would help me out so much. Also I don’t know if being Asian male is a disadvantage for recruiting as foraging through this forum I can see people raising concerns about DEI, promotion prospects, etc… I was wondering if these concerns are blown out if proportion or is it truly screwed for someone like me.
