Hand-written thank you letter plus a gift card, too much?
I've had several informational interviews with friends' friends and alumni who work at BB, associates, VPs and MDs. Some of them helped me a lot.
I'm thinking about sending a hand-written thank you letter with a gift card to each one of them before Christmas. Would this be too much? If not, which gift cards would you guys recommend? Probably with a face value of $50 to $100. Starbucks? Brooks Brothers? Toysrus if they have kids?
Any suggestions?
i think gift cards are little bit too much. A thank you card would be fine. my 2cents
Gift card? No.
Here's what you should get them:
a Holiday bouquet of fresh roses, lilies, gerbera daisies from www.gifttree.com
a gift basket that includes two fine bottles of Merlot, fruit (crisp apples, oranges, kiwis), signature chocolates and a keepsake magazine tote
a "gift tower" of dizzying heights filled with favorites such as spearmint balls, lemon drops, peach slices, seasoned pretzels, McTavish cookies, chocolate hazelnuts, peanut brittle, pistachios, and blueberry cookie thins
two splits of Chandon California Brut Classic
I'm with you on the hand-written note -- definitely a nice touch over an email. But, the gift card would be really weird.
A thank-you note would be fine, and very polite, but a gift card is definitely going too far.
This is definitely the time to do less. Sending a gift is a genuine but absolutely terrible idea. It might even make people second guess your understanding of business etiquette, corporate hierarchy, etc etc. Stick with the note
great. thanks guys for your opinions
