Has Anyone Taken 3 Month Stress Leave?

2 of our analysts just quit after getting their bonus, which means more work for associates and VPs. Frankly, have never been this stressed in my life. Constantly thinking about deals at all hours of the night and weekends.

Would leave in a heartbeat if I had something lined up, but I don’t. So in the meantime, was considering taking stress leave to get my mental health right and come back to re-assess. Obviously, risk burning bridges at my current firm but kinda don’t give a shit right now

I've been there man. I didn't take 3 months, but took several weeks after being in a very dark place mentally. I was fortunate to have some team members who noticed and advocated for me, although my senior team was very understanding regardless. There's absolutely nothing wrong with taking the time you need. If you have team members who you consider friends/mentors, mention how you're feeling and see if there's any formal process you need to go through. I'm sure they would want you to stay on and get right especially in this environment.

There's so much more to life than banking and your safety and sanity should be #1. It takes a lot to advocate for yourself, but you will be stronger on the other side of this.
