Have a placement meeting for an internship in London. NEED advice

Hi everybody I go to Villanova and they have an opportunity for Freshman to go study in London and then do a 6 week internship. They don't guarantee a company but people in the past have worked at JPM and Barclays wealth. Ok I am going to admit it I am kind of an amateur when it comes to this stuff and that is why I am looking for advice. My first question is what kind of work would I be doing at a company like this for 6 weeks? Another question is what is investment banking and how would I express my interest in this during my interview meeting, I want to say more than just I want to work in investment banking. Also what are the other major investment banks in London that I could I say I want to intern at. Are these companies referred to as major investment bank firms or is there a term fro them.

Once again bare with me I want to work at an IB in the future and this freshman year internship is huge and that is why I need help to land a good internship.
