Just curious to hear your thoughts on headcount in your individual groups. Seems like summer analyst/associate hiring was either normal or on the lighter side. Have any of your firms pledged (which doesn't mean much anyway) to hire more?

summer analyst classes are set so far in advance you can’t really adapt them to current trends. even summer associate classes were set back in january. my firm vowed to hire more but haven’t seen that actually play out yet. not sure if it’s BS on their part or if it’s just a competitive market out there bc so many banks need more ppl.
I just did associate recruiting this cycle and everyone I spoke with was absolutely slammed. Hiring still seemed to be steady or down, I think by that point it was obvious there needed to be additional headcount. Think my firm is either the same or down from last year, with massive revenue increases.
