Hi all, I tried looking this up but came up empty regarding health/dental/vision insurance while on Internship. I am hoping some of the past interns can help shed some light on this.
I will be interning at an Elite Boutique advisory firm (think Moelis/GHL/Lazard/Evercore) as a Summer Associate. I am also not from a full time MBA program, so not on student health insurance. I will be quitting my current job prior to the internship start and as a result will lose all health benefits. I don't want to be uncovered for any point of time and want to understand whether it's typical for banks to provide health insurance during the 10 week internship or is it expected that since these are students, they'll likely be insured through university health plans?
My offer letter does not state anything other than salary, approximate start and boiler plate language, nothing about health benefits though. Really curious about this so I can talk to University to see if I can get coverage through them or another private insurer.
Did you end up getting covered through your employer or did you have to go with an outside insurer?
