HELP! Current M&A Activity Question
I have a few M&A interviews coming up and wanted to ask you guys for your help on the inside view of current M&A market activity.
Which industries are seeing the most activity in today's market environment?
Which industries do you expect to benefit/hurt the most from current market characteristics (weak dollar, rising oil, legislation changes, etc)?
What TYPES of M&A deals are you mostly seeing right now? Distressed? Strategic?
What types of multiples and premiums are you currently seeing and how much lower are they compared to the peak back in 2007?

I suggest you get a friend who is working for a middle market bank like Blair, Baird, or HW to send you their latest monthly M&A market newsletter - it will answer many of your questions.
