Happens more than you'd think - banking is a very small world. Plenty of people date even within the same bank or same group.

If they're not in your group this isn't really an issue. Very unlikely you will see each other beyond walking past each other in the lobby once in a blue moon. Just be polite, don't stop and chat if you don't need to. It's only a problem if you make it a problem

Thanks for the input. Do people actually date in the same group? That’s wild. Aren’t they competing for the same promotion?

I see dudes hitting on girls at social functions like Christmas party all the time, but to do it in the same group is actually crazy.

You'd be surprised. I know at least half a dozen folks who have married coworkers. Generally not a good idea to date at work, especially in your own group, but that doesn't stop people - especially in IB when you spend 18 hours a day with people and become closer than a 9-5 job

All to say, you are not alone in having an ex or two at the firm and it's more than likely never going to come up
