Help moving to NYC
Moving to NYC in a few months and doing research on apartments. How bad/inconvenient is it to not have a washer/dryer in your apt? If there's still a washer/dryer setup in your building, how has the experience been? I'd love to not spend my weekends sitting in my apt waiting for my laundry
When I filter apts with a washer/dryer on street easy, the results go from 500 options to like 40...
You don’t need it in your apartment in my opinion. I have it in my building and I just run down when working from home or on weekends. Never had an issue.
Just moved here and have to go to laundry mat/wash and fold. Did wash and fold the other day and it was great haha. Much better than expected. I’d imagine in building is much better than not, but a lot of people do it.
Not a big deal, when I moved to nyc I didn’t have a washer and dryer. You can also pay for a service (pickup and drop off from your building); while not cheap, probably cheaper than the rent difference.
I dropped off and picked up my laundry for 4 years in NYC. The laundry would come back folded and in a saran wrapped cube/rectangle pretty easy.
