Houlihan or Arma (two very good player in mid market)

The issue i see with HSBC is that you won't get a great deal flow or at least you will not be in a lead position on deals. HL and Arma on the other hand are best-in-class player in their space (restructuring / distressed MM sell-side and TMT respectively). I have worked with Houlihan and was quite impressed. Never worked with Arma but I have some friends there and heard good things (although tough hours)

HL or Arma Partners, as HSBC is not going to give you much deal exposure...

HL is mainly strong in restructuring, but recently acquired Quayle Munro, although it is not clear if this can boost HL in TMT

Arma Partners is very solid in TMT and gives you good exit opportunities. They are particularly strong in Software, which is today’s hottest TMT vertical. Arma Partners has good exit opps in VC too.
