Hong Kong Summer Analyst Compensation

Just ran a search that yielded no relevant results.

I'm going to be working for a BB IBD in HK this summer. I've seen some websites (Vault) say that SA comp is only $1000USD per month. That seems low, right?

Thanks

That does seem very low for a BB. I'd guess you're probably looking at more like 1k+ a week, at least that's what I was offered in S@T in NYC.

That's ridiculous. HK analysts and associates are paid the same rates with NY bankers. I'd be surprised if the SAs are paid poverty wages.

If you're part of the normal recruitment process, you will be getting the pro-rated equivalent of whatever a first year analyst gets at the bank.

Client hires (got the position through connections as a favour) get a token sum to cover expenses, in which case US$1,000 sounds about right (Based on my knowledge in Asia).

The pay should be around $13,000 per month, with other minor benefits.

At least at my firm, compensation for SA should be the similar after currency exchange no matter where you work. If you're seriously getting paid $1000 per month, you should contact HR to verify your contract.
