Houlihan Lokey Layoff

Heard from multiple sources that HL is laying off analysts in some of the groups firmwide. Can someone confirm this? Would imagine that the M&A practice is taking a heavy hit over the past couple months Any insight would be great

I'd be shocked. They just announced Q4 earnings and revenues that topped expectations and have a restructuring practice that is intended to assist in riding out market volatility.

I really doubt this is happening. Of all firms, HL is not one to be laying off its employees right now. The firm is still producing solid results and is well positioned to offset a decline in M&A activity with revenues from its strong restructuring practice. Agree with the previous comments, it's one of the last firms I'd expect to cut employees during these times.

I work in the CF division of HL. I have not heard personally of any analysts in CF being laid off. Obviously there are many offices but I feel like I would have heard something through the grape vine.

The only MM I have heard of having layoffs to date is Cantor. I would like to think that given our strong FR group we should be okay.

About a month ago we were told that our bonuses would not be significantly impacted so I took that as a positive sign.

Well a quick online search shows that they have quite a few openings across their offices. Interesting to reconcile current openings and performance with your sources.

Associate performance reviews / bonuses recently happened. It could be a possibility that they let go of an under performer. But again, I have not heard personally of any analysts being let go. I would like to think that HL would be able to move an analyst to another group during a time like this rather than lay them off given that we are quite adaptable.
