Houston IB exit opps

Incoming MBA here about to start pre-term so apologies for the basic questions.

I was reading an article from Mergers & Inquisitions about O&G and found it really interesting.

Seems like a really specific skillset though. I'm wondering if these skills you pick up in O&G IB in Houston only applicable to O&G? Or could they be transferable to upstream/downstream of renewable energy or something else?
