How bad is lateral hiring in London?

I am searching associate position (IB/PE) in London and was wondering how bad the market is? I was seeing articles that it should rebound in Q2

It's pretty bad. Industry made a rebound in Q1 YoY but I have a feeling this is going to be short-lived and dealmaking as a whole won't pick back up until we see a rate cut confirmed...now go have a look at when the market predicts that will be.
I agree I think bbib will be lagging not leading. Those at the top don’t care and want to keep their bonus so they’ll be continuing to keep costs down
I saw JPM posted some ANL/ASO roles recently
Saw the same for GS. Is the market picking up?
Everyone in my group is on at least 1 live deal, the majority being on 2. Now let’s see if they go to the finishing line
