How do candidates get selected after a Superday?

I was wondering how the proccess works on who gets extended an offer after a Superday. I know the interviewers have a strong say on it of course, but do they have the ultimate say? Because almost every interviewer I've had doesn't seem to know the next stages of what comes next. Do they submit the notes they take in the interview to HR where HR makes the ultimate decision based on what's written on the notes submitted? If so, I guess I should send HR a follow up email after a Superday as well. I'm a bit confused as to how this situation plays out.

HR has no say, they just execute the offer.

The interviewers typically circle up and discuss candidates immediately after the interviews. The strongest candidates don't take much discussion, and those who are definite nos are also quickly eliminated. The candidates in the middle come down to fit, skill, and a lot of times just personal preference of whichever interviewers are most senior. If an MD really likes or does not like someone, associate/VP level probably aren't going to question that.

Interviewers know this is next but they're not going to tell you that they're about to sit down and talk about you... I would not ask the question of next steps, can seem presumptuous considering you're already at a superday
