*** How do I follow-up with the CIO of GS regarding my resume ***
Hello Everyone!
Background Story:
I was fortunate to meet him and his family at his residence in upstate NY. My fiancé's father works as a carpenter and was given the contract to restructure certain things in their villa. My future father-in-law and his wife grew up in the same town and are very good friends. When I heard that he was the CIO of GS, I took the opportunity to work(volunteer) with my future father-in-law at their house for 3 days so that I could meet him in person. The plan worked. He was very humble, kind and shared his personal email ID to send my resume. He replied back in about 3 weeks 'promising' that he'll look into it and thanking me for sending the resume.
My worry is that it's been 2 months now. I understand that he recently took over as CIO and is extremely busy or may be he must have forgotten about my case.
My questions/doubts are (where I'm seeking advise from all of you):
Is it rude and disrespectful to send him a follow-up even after he said 'I promise you I'll look into it'?
How does the referral work? Especially when the positions are filled up?
Bump
[Edited] contact him now.
No, he is the son in law of one of the CIO's friend. OP met the CIO through his father in law.
Was speed reading, reread everything.
Haha, understandable. Just wanted to clarify on OP's behalf :)
