How does IBD recruiting work?
Title says it all.
I go to a target school, and most BBs recruit here.
Is there any difference if I do OCR versus online submission? (For example, I heard there are no OCR events for positions in Europe...) How is it different for recruiting in Europe or Asia Pacific?
Who reads your resume?
Who decides whether you get an interview? (I heard you need to know analysts to get a first round interview, but you'll need to know MDs to actually get the job -- is this true?)
Will appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on this.

For OCR, there will probably just be postings for U.S. jobs. Also, for OCR, you will need to submit an application on most banks websites in addition to through the OCR portal (redundant and annoying, yes). For applying to Asia or Europe, you'll probably only apply online (since there won't be an OCR posting). For Asia recruiting, some banks will go on a roadshow where they bring over a few bankers from the Asia office to visit some campuses in the U.S. now that more U.S. students are recruiting for Asia. This usually will happen early in the fall, make sure to check the "event" pages that some banks have. No idea about Europe. But networking will be critical, whether it's for the U.S., Asia, or Europe.
