How good is Haverford College for investment banking?

I was recently accepted to Haverford College and plan on attending. I will major in Econ with a concentration in Mathematical Economics, so I will have a good knowledge of both subject areas. How well would this prepare me for a career in investment banking? Is it prestigious enough?

Haverford is a great school, congrats on getting in. It may not place many alumni on the street, but if I recall the school size is only 1,000 kids or so, so there's that. This is probably compounded by the fact that Philly isn't exactly a hot spot for finance. That being said, if you want to work in IB I'm sure you can network and NYC is close enough. You just need to stay focused and committed on that goal during your four years there to make it happen. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Good luck.

I attended a Tri-Consortium school, just not Haverford--

You're fine going to Haverford-- coming from a similar school background, I had nine superdays and am currently working in investment banking at BB. Try to be part of Fords of Finance, Redefine Her Street (if you're a woman), etc.

It'll just be a bit of rougher road trying to get into IB. If you have any specific questions, DM me.
