How hard is it for international students to get into the IBW at IU Kelley?
Thinking of committing to IU Kelley and am very focused on getting an investment banking job out of undergrad. I’m currently debating between Fordham and IU and I heard online that it’s way harder for international students to get into the IBW. Is this true? Do you guys know any internationals currently or from previous years who were in the Investment Banking Workshop? If so, is it common or a rarity. Thanks.
I lead another IB workshop program at a different school. I think in general it’s hard for internationals to get into these programs because of the language barrier. We had a kid from Russia join that was honestly pretty decent technically but had pretty broken English and subsequently failed to place. Likewise rejected some others who would’ve succeeded on paper but lacked communication skills. I think if you’re able to get over the hump here and come across as a normal human being you won’t be looked at any differently but this is from my experience why intls get rejected
