How hard is it to break into a middle market bank compared to BB and EB?

After hearing all the stories about intense competition among business majors to break into these prestigious bulge bracket and elite boutique banks, I was wondering what the process was like for middle market banks, which don't seem to get much attention. What is the general competition among students trying to break in? How hard is it compared to BB and EB?

Somewhat easier but still very competitive. You won't have a problem breaking into MMs from Stern but don't limit yourself before your freshman year even begins. You've heard that the school is competitive, and while this is true, it's overblown by WSO. It's not like only 1 in 10 Stern students gets into IB, many more do, so don't sell yourself short before you even get to college

As someone who went tk a non-target, I would say it’s equally as hard. But if you go to NYU, you’ll be fine, especially if you’re thinking about it this early. Just get into the right clubs and put in the work to prepare and you’ll be fine.
