How hard to go from S&T SA to IB FT?

I'm working this summer at a top BB doing an S&T rotational program. After reading up a lot on the direction S&T is going I'm becoming more and more concerned with starting a career there. Having this experience on my resume as well as a Risk internship from my sophomore year summer at a different BB, how difficult would it be for me to lateral to IB full time? I have a 3.6 GPA from a T40 school. Obviously my goal is to work my ass off this summer to get a return offer but I do want to start looking at potentially lateralling out before pigeonholing myself. Any advice on going about this/the difficulty of it would be greatly appreciated. Also curious on how this would work internally.
