How long a referral can take?

A few alumni MD/Ds said will give my resume to HR from two weeks to a month ago. We had good talks, but they didn’t reply my resume email after the phone calls.

I wonder how long this possess can take for full time analyst position? And because of the current situation, I didn’t want to bother them by following up. I am now worried things may become worse in May.

Any opinions will be appreciated.

Shoot the one you think you had the best conversation an email to follow up. Don't mention/ ask if they dropped your resume, but do it in the same email chain that included your resume initially. Also, try and see if you can add a new insight or something interesting to the email, so it seems that there is an actual reason for writing. This helped me when I was recruiting for SA, but it seems like you are going for a lat, so there might be a different/ better way. Hope this helps tho.

Its tough to tell time because it was through the recruiting process. So if I talked to the person 2 months before start of interviews, I then would followup about a week before I was expecting them to start interviews just to make sure I was fresh in their mind.

I think a lot of firms are in a temporary freeze because of rona rn so I would probably followup relatively soon to stay fresh, and then again when it seems like hiring is starting to pickup again. I’m by no means an expert for this type of thing though.

Got it! I decided to ask in the morning BTW, this is indeed a different time.

depends on the city and type of bank. It would take much longer at a larger bank whereas should be pretty fast in a botique in Chicago. That being said, covid-19 may also play an impact
