how long does it take to learn how to build dcf and LBO models?

Hi, I’m currently an incoming intern at a bb (citi,DB,CS) and haven’t had previous modeling experience. I have about a month until my internship and was interested in knowing about how much time it takes to learn how to do dcfs, lbos and understand the assumptions/concepts behind them. I’m not the best with knowing excel shortcuts but I will be setting aside time to learning them. Appreciate the help!

There are plenty of 1-pagers online with the most common Excel tips. In general, the best way to learn the tips is to bring up the ribbon (hit Alt) and follow the keys to accomplish what you're trying to do. After forcing yourself to do this for a bit it'll become second nature.

Alt-w-v-g (remove gridlines from the sheet), Alt-h-o-i (auto fit column width), and Alt-h-d-d after selecting an entire row or column (deletes it) are a few of my most common I use. Also Shift-space bar to select entire row, and Ctrl-space bar to select column.

In terms of the DCF/LBO question. Check out the website Multiple Expansion. They have great walk throughs for both.
