How many coffee chats for ib?

Current sophomore recruiting for ib, school has a pretty good alumni base but response rates have been low. I know people who have done 40-60 coffee chats already and I am nowhere near that number. I feel like I've had quality coffee chats, but I'm worried about the quantity. Not sure how many I should be doing before January apps open, and I'm worried that I'm behind

Hey this is a great question, you are definitely not "behind" in the way you may think. Quality is key. I probably had under 10 quality chats and I now have an offer for Summer 26 at a great MM IB n the West Coast. Find your top targets, and be very strategic and thoughtful in the way you approach them.

You only need 1 that will potentially put you through. Prospective investment bankers tend to be highly analytical in their approach to networking. While this is important, from my experience, the quality of the conversation is way more important.

Hope this helps.
